Virgin-born, we bow before you:
blesséd was the womb that bore you;
Mary, Mother meek and mild,
blesséd was she in her Child.
Blesséd was the breast that fed you;
blesséd was the hand that led you;
blesséd was the parent's eye
that watched thy slumbering infancy.
Blesséd she by all creation,
who brought forth the world's salvation, and
blesséd they, for ever blessed, who
love you most and serve you best.
Virgin-born, we bow before you;
blesséd was the womb that bore you;
Mary, Mother meek and mild,
blessed was she in her Child.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
Psalm 24
Domini est terra
- The Lord's is the earth and its fullness,
the world and all its peoples.
- It is he who set it on the seas;
on the waters he made it firm.
- Who shall climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who shall stand in his holy place?
- The man with clean hands and pure heart,
who desires not worthless things,
(who has not sworn so as to deceive his neighbor.)
- He shall receive blessings from the Lord
and reward from the God who saves him .
- Such are the men who seek him,
seek the face of the God of Jacob.
- O gates, lift high your heads;
grow higher, ancient doors.
Let him enter, the king of glory!
- Who is the king of glory?
The Lord, the mighty, the valiant,
the Lord, the valiant in war.
- O gates, lift high your heads;
grow higher, ancient doors.
Let him enter, the king of glory!
- Who is he, the king of glory?
He, the Lord of armies,
he is the king of glory.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
Psalm 87
Gundamenta ejus
- On the holy mountain is his city
cherished by the Lord.
- The Lord prefers the gates of Zion
to all Jacob's dwellings.
- Of you are told glorious things,
O city of God!
- Babylon and Egypt I will count
among those who know me;
Philistia, Tyre, Ethiopia,
these will be her children
- and Zion shall be called Mother
for all shall be her children."
It is he, the Lord Most High,
who gives each his place.
- In his register of peoples he writes:
These are her children,
- and while they dance they will sing:
In you all find their home.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
Psalm 99
Dominus regnavit
- The Lord is king; the peoples tremble.
He is throned on the cherubim; the earth quakes.
- The Lord is great in Zion.
He is supreme over all the peoples.
- Let them praise his name, so terrible and great,
- he is holy, full of power.
You are a king who loves what is right;
you have established equity, justice and right;
you have established them in Jacob.
- Exalt the Lord our God;
bow down before Zion, his footstool.
He the Lord is holy.
- Among his priests were Aaron and Moses,
among those who invoked his name was Samuel.
They invoked the Lord and he answered.
- To them he spoke in the pillar of cloud.
They did his will; they kept the law,
which he, the Lord, had given.
- O Lord our God, you answered them.
For them you were a God who forgives;
yet you punished their offenses.
- Exalt the Lord our God;
bow down before his holy mountain
for the Lord our God is holy.
We see Jesus crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, he who for a little while was made lower than the angels, that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
For it was fitting that he, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many children to glory, should make the leader to their salvation perfect through suffering. He who consecrates and those who are being consecrated all have one origin. Therefore, he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying:
"I will proclaim your name to my brothers,
in the midst of the assembly I will praise you";
and again:
"I will put my trust in him";
and again:
"Behold, I and the children God has given me."
Now since the children share in blood and flesh, he likewise shared in them, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and free those who through fear of death had been subject to slavery all their life. Surely he did not help angels but rather the descendants of Abraham; therefore, he had to become like his brothers in every way, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest before God to expiate the sins of the people.
God our Father,
may we always profit by the prayers
of the Virgin Mother Mary,
for You bring us life and salvation
through Jesus Christ her Son
who lives and regins with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Alternative Prayer
Father,
Source of light in every age,
the virgin conceived and bore Your Son
who is called Wonderful God, Prince of Peace.
May her prayer, the gift of a mother's love,
be Your people's joy through all ages.
May her response, born of a humble heart,
draw our Spirit to rest on Your people.
Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
