Easter Season
Monday Weeks 2-6

Morning Prayer

Antiphons, psalms and canticle from the current Monday in the Psalter

READING
The word is very near to you, it is on your lips and in your heart: the word, that is, of the faith we proclaim. If your lips confess that Jesus is Lord and if you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved. By believing from the heart you are made righteous; by confessing with your lips you are saved. - Romans 10:8-10

RESPONSORY
The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.
 - The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.
He hung upon the cross for us,
 - alleluia, alleluia.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
 - The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.

Week 6  By raising Jesus Christ from the dead, God has given us a new birth to a living hope in the promise of an inheritance that will last forever, alleluia.

INTERCESSIONS

Monday 2,4 and 6

God the Father was glorified in the death and resurrection of his Son.  Let us pray to him with confidence, saying:
                Lord, enlighten our minds.

Father of lights, you bathed the world in splendor when Christ rose again in glory,
 - fill our minds today with the light of faith.

Through the resurrection of your Son you opened for us the way to eternal life,
 - as we work today sustain us with the hope of glory.

Through your risen son you sent the Holy Spirit into the world,
 - set our hearts on fire with spiritual love.

May Jesus Christ, who was crucified to set us free,
 - be today our salvation and redemption.

Our Father...

Weeks 3 and 5

The Father glorified Jesus and appointed him heir to all nations.
Let us praise him, saying:
Save us, Lord, through your victory.

Lord Christ, by your victory you broke the power of evil and destroyed sin and death,
 - make us victorious over sin today.

You laid death low, and brought us new life,
 - grant that we may walk today in this new life,

You gave life to the dead, and led mankind from death to life,
 - give eternal life to all those we shall meet today.

You brought confusion on the guards at your tomb, but joy to your disciples,
 - grant the fullness of joy to all who serve you.

INTERCESSIONS

Weeks 2,4 and 6

Let us pray to Christ the Lord, who bathed the world in glory through his resurrection.  With joyful hearts, let us say:
Christ, our life, hear our prayer.

Lord Jesus Christ, you walked with your disciples on the way,
 - be with your Church on its pilgrimage through life.

Do not let us be slow to believe,
 - but ready to proclaim you as victor over death.

Look with kindness on those who do not recognize your presence,
 - reveal yourself to them, that they may welcome you as savior.

Through the cross you have brought reconciliation to mankind in your body,
 - grant unity and peace to all nations.

Judge of the living and the dead,
 - Forgive the sins of the faithful departed.

Our Father...

Weeks 3 and 5

The Holy Spirit raised the body of Christ to life and made it the source of life. With joy in our hearts, let us call upon the risen Christ, saying:
Lord, make all things new and fill them with life.

Saviour of the world and king of the new creation, raise our minds and hearts to your kingdom
  -  where you sit at the right hand of the Father.

Lord, you are always present in your Church.
  -  through your Holy Spirit, guide it into all truth.

Show your mercy to the sick, the overburdened and the dying.
  -  that they may receive strength and courage from your love.

Light the never fails, as the day draw to its close we offer you our sacrifice of praise
  -  and pray that the glory of your resurrection may shine on our deceased brothers and sisters.

Our Father...
