Easter Season
Monday Weeks 7

Invitatory

Come, let us adore Christ the Lord who promised to send the Holy Spirit on his people, alleluia.

Morning Prayer

Antiphons, psalms and canticle from the current Monday in the Psalter

READING
The word is very near to you, it is on your lips and in your heart: the word, that is, of the faith we proclaim. If your lips confess that Jesus is Lord and if you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved. By believing from the heart you are made righteous; by confessing with your lips you are saved. - Romans 10:8-10

RESPONSORY
The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.
 - The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.
He hung upon the cross for us,
 - alleluia, alleluia.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
 - The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.

BENEDICTUS (Canticle of Zechariah)
Antiphon
The world will persecute you,, but have courage, I have overcome the world.

INTERCESSIONS

Christ promisedtd to send the Holy Spirit from tht Father in his name to be our helper and guide. Let us bless him and ask him:
Lord Jesus, give us your Spirit.

Lord Jesus, we thank you, and through you the Father also, in the unity of the Holy Spirit
 - may everything we say and do today be in your name.

Give us the Holy Spirit to dwell within us,
- that we may be living members in your body.

Grant that we may never condemn or despise others,
- for we shall all one day face you as our judge.

Fill us with the fullness of joy and peace in believing,
- that we may be rich in hope and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Our Father...

PRAYER

Lord,
send the power of your Holy Spirit upon us
that we may remain faithful
and do you will in our daily lives.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

The Lord is risen, alleluia.
  -   He has appeared to Simon, alleluia.

SEXT

In Christ lives the fullness of divinity, and in him you too find your own fulfilment. You have been buried with him, when you were baptised; and by baptism, too, you have been raised up with him through your belief in the power of God who raised him from the dead. - Colossians 2:9 - 12

The disciples rejoiced, alleluia.
  -   When they saw the risen Lord, alleluia.

NONES

Remember the Good News that I carry, 'Jesus Christ risen from the dead, sprung from the race of David'. Here is a saying that you rely on: 'If we have died with him, then we shall live with him.' - 2 Timothy 2:8 - 11

Stay with us Lord, alleluia.
  -   For evening draws near, alleluia.

PRAYER
As in Morning Prayer

Vespers

Antiphons, psalms and canticle from the current Monday in the Psalter

READING
All who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a spirit of adoption, through which we cry, "Abba, Father!" The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if only we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him. - Romans 8:14-17

RESPONSORY
The Holy Spirit is the Paraclete, alleluia, alleluia.
 - The Holy Spirit is the Paraclete, alleluia, alleluia.
He will teach you all things,
 - alleluia, alleluia.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
 - The Holy Spirit is the Paraclete, alleluia, alleluia.

MAGNIFICAT (Canticle of Mary)
Antiphons
The Spirit, the Advocate, will remain with you and live in you, alleluia.

INTERCESSIONS

Let us give thanks to Christ who filled the apostles and the whole Church with the consolation of the Holy Spirit.  In union with all the faithful let us cry out:

Lord, send your consoling Spirit into your Church.

Lord Jesus, mediator between God and men, you chose priests to share your work,
 - through them may all rise with you to the Father.

Grant that rich and poor may meet in friendship, for you are the God of both,
 - do not let the rich make riches their god.

Make your Gospel known to all peoples,
 - that all may come to obey you in faith.

Send forth your Spirit, gentlest of consolers,
 - to wipe away the tears of all who mourn.

Purify the souls of the departed,
 - and receive them into the company of your saints and chosen ones in heaven.

Amen.
