Easter Season
Saturday Weeks 2-5

Invitatory

The Lord is risen, alleluia.

Morning Prayer

Antiphons, psalms and canticle from the current Saturday in the Psalter

READING
None of us lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself. For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. For this is why Christ died and came to life, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living. - Romans 14:7-9

RESPONSORY
The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.
 - The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.
He hung upon the cross for us,
 - alleluia, alleluia.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
 - The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.

BENEDICTUS (Canticle of Zechariah)

INTERCESSIONS

Weeks 2 and 4

Christ has made known to us the life that lasts for ever. With faith and joy let us cry out to him, saying:
Lord, may your resurrection bring us the riches of your grace.

Eternal shepherd, look on your flock as it rises from sleep,
 - feed us with the word of life and the bread from heaven.

Keep us safe from wolf and hireling,
 - and make us faithful in listening to your voice.

You are present to all who preach your Gospel, and give power to their words,
 - make us today preachers of your resurrection by our holiness of life.

Be our great joy that no one can take from us,
 - so that we may reject sin with its sadness, and reach out to eternal life.

Our Father...

Weeks 3 and 5

Christ is the bread of life; he will raise up on the last day all who share the table of his word and his body.  In our joy let us pray:
Lord, give us peace and joy.

Son of God, you were raised from the dead to lead us into life,
 - bless and sanctify all the children of your Father.

You give peace and joy to all who believe in you,
 - grant that we may walk as children of the light, rejoicing in your victory.

Build up the faith of your pilgrim Church on earth,
 - that it may bear witness to your resurrection before the whole world.

You suffered and so entered into the glory of the Father,
 - change the tears of the sorrowful into joy.

Our Father...

PRAYER

Week 2  God our Father,
look upon us with love.
You redeem us and make us your children in Christ.
Give us true freedom
and bring us to the inheritance you promised.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Week 3  God our Father,
by the waters of baptism
you give new life to the faithful.
May we not succumb to the influence of evil
but remain true to your gift of life.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Week 4  Father,
may we whom you renew in baptism
bear witness to our faith by the way we live.
By the suffering, death and resurrection of your Son
may we come to eternal joy.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Week 5  Loving Father,
through our rebirth in baptism
you give us your life and promise immortality.
By your unceasing care,
guide our steps toward the life of glory.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Daytime Prayer
TERCE

READING
When we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, we were still enemies; now that we have been reconciled, surely we may count on being saved by the life of his Son? Not merely because we have been reconciled but because we are filled with joyful trust in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have already gained our reconciliation. - Romans 5:10-11

The Lord is risen, alleluia.
  -   He has appeared to Simon, alleluia.

SEXT

READING
Christ has been raised from the dead, the first-fruits of all who have fallen asleep. Death came through one man and in the same way the resurrection of the dead has come through one man. Just as all men die in Adam, so all men will be brought to life in Christ. - 1 Corinthians 15:20-22

The disciples rejoiced, alleluia.
  -   When they saw the risen Lord, alleluia.

NONES

READING
The love of Christ overwhelms us when we reflect that if one man has died for all, then all men should be dead. The reason he died for all was so that living men should live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised to life for them. - 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Stay with us Lord, alleluia.
  -   For evening draws near, alleluia.
