Invitatory

The Lord is risen, alleluia.

If Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is alive because of righteousness. If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you. - Romans 8:10-11

INTERCESSIONS

Weeks 2 and 4

God the Father has given us his Son for the resurrection of his people.  Let us turn with confidence to the Father and say:
May the Lord Jesus be our very life.

As a pillar of fire, you lighted the way for your people in the desert,
 - through his resurrection may Christ be today the light of our life.

Through the voice of Moses you taught your people from the mountain,
 - through his resurrection may Christ be today the light of our life.

You fed your pilgrim people with your gift of manna,
 - through his resurrection may Christ be today the light of our life.

You gave your people water from the rock,
 - through his resurrection may Christ be today the light of our life.

Our Father...

Weeks 3 and 5

Christ rose from the dead and is always present in his Church. Let us adore him and say:
           Stay with us, Lord.

Lord, Jesus, victor over sin and death, glorious and immortal,
  -  be always in our midst.

Come to us in the power of your victory,
  -  and show our hearts the loving kindness of your Father.

Come to heal a world wounded by division,
  -  for you alone can transform our hearts and make them one.

Strengthen our faith in final victory:
  -  and renew our hope in your second coming.

Our Father...

in this holy season
we come to know the full depth of your love.
You have freed us from the darkness of error and sin.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Week 4  Father,
in restoring human nature
you have given us a greater dignity
than we had in the beginning.
Keep us in your love
and continue to sustain those
who have received new life in baptism.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Week 5  Father,
in your love you have brought us
from evil to good and from misery to happiness.

SEXT

Vespers

Antiphons, psalms and canticle from the current Thursday in the Psalter

READING
Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous, that he might lead you to God. Put to death in the flesh, he was brought to life in the spirit. In it he also went to preach to the spirits in prison, who had once been disobedient while God patiently waited in the days of Noah during the building of the ark, in which a few persons, eight in all, were saved through water. This prefigured baptism, which saves you now. It is not a removal of dirt from the body but an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers subject to him.- 1 Peter 3:18-22

RESPONSORY
The disciples rejoiced, alleluia, alleluia.
 - The disciples rejoiced, alleluia, alleluia.
When they saw the risen Lord,
 - alleluia, alleluia.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
 - The disciples rejoiced, alleluia, alleluia.

MAGNIFICAT (Canticle of Mary)
Antiphons
Week 2  Whoever believes in the Son possesses eternal life, alleluia.
Week 3  I am the living bread come down from heaven; anyone who eats this bread will live for ever; the bread that I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world, alleluia.
Week 4  I am the shepherd of my sheep. I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly, alleluia.
Week 5  I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete, alleluia.

INTERCESSIONS

Weeks 2 and 4

The Father has established in Christ the foundation of all our hope and the principle of our resurrection. Let us rejoice in Christ, and cry out to him, saying:
King of glory, here our prayer.

Lord Jesus, through your resurrection you entered the sanctuary of heaven to offer the blood of your own sacrifice
 - lead us with you into the glory of the Father.

Through your resurrection you confirmed the faith of your disciples and sent them out into the world
 - make all bishops and priests faithful preachers of the Gospel.

Through your resurrection you became our peace and reconciliation
 - unite the baptized in perfect communion of faith and love.

Through your resurrection the crippled man was healed at the gate of the temple
 - look on the sick and reveal in them the power of your glory.

You became the firstborn from the dead, the firstfruits of the resurrection
 - grant to the dead who hoped in you a share in your glory.

Our Father...

Weeks 3 and 5

Christ rose from the dead as the first fruits of those who sleep.
In our joy let us praise him, and say:
Firstborn from the dead, hear our prayer.

Lord Jesus, remember your holy Church, built on the apostles and reaching to the ends of the earth,
 - and let your blessing rest on all who believe in you.

You are the healer of soul and body,
 - come to our aid, and save us in your love.

Raise up the sick and give them strength,
 - free them from their infirmities.

Help those in distress of mind or body,
 - and in your compassion lift up those in need.

Through your cross and resurrection you opened for all the way to immortality,
 - grant to our deceased brothers and sisters the joys of your kingdom.

Our Father...
