Easter Season
Tuesday Week 7

Invitatory

Come, let us adore Christ the Lord who promised to send the Holy Spirit on his people, alleluia.

Morning Prayer

Antiphons, psalms and canticle from the current Tuesday in the Psalter

READING
God raised Jesus from the dead, and for many days he appeared to those who had accompanied him from Galilee to Jerusalem: and it is these same companions of his who are now his witnesses before our people. We have come here to tell you the Good News. It was to our ancestors that God made the promise but it is to us, their children, that he has fulfilled it, by raising Jesus from the dead. As scripture says in the first psalm: You are my son: today I have become your father. - Acts 13:30 - 33

RESPONSORY
The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.
 - The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.
He hung upon the cross for us,
 - alleluia, alleluia.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
 - The Lord is risen from the tomb, alleluia, alleluia.

BENEDICTUS (Canticle of Zechariah)
Antiphons
The Lord is risen from the dead as he promised; let all the earth rejoice and be glad, for he shall reign for ever, alleluia.

INTERCESSIONS

Christ the Lord promised to send us from the Father their Holy Spirit. Let us give Christ glory and ask him:

Lord Jesus, give us your Spirit

Lord Jesus, may your word dwell in us in all its richness,
 - that we may thank you in psalms, hymns and spiritual canticles.

Through the Spirit you have made us children of God,
 - grant that through the Spirit we may join with you in always calling on God as Father.

Give us wisdom in our daily lives,
 - that we may do everything for God's glory.

You are patient and full of compassion,
 - make us live at peace with all mankind.

Our Father...

PRAYER
God of power and mercy,
send your Holy Spirit to live in our hearts and make us temples of his glory.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Daytime Prayer
TERCE

READING
This Jesus is 'the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.' There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved. - Acts 4:10-11

The Lord is risen, alleluia.
  -   He has appeared to Simon, alleluia.

SEXT

READING
You are now saved by a baptismal bath. This baptism is not a removal of dirt from the body but an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God. - 1 Peter 3:21-22a

The disciples rejoiced, alleluia.
  -   When they saw the risen Lord, alleluia.

NONES

READING
Since you have been raised with Christ, seek those things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. - Colossians 3:1-2

Stay with us Lord, alleluia.
  -   For evening draws near, alleluia.

PRAYER
As in Morning Prayer

Vespers

Antiphons, psalms and canticle from the current Tuesday in the Psalter

READING
The Spirit helps us is our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes with inexpressible groanings. And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because it intercedes for the holy ones according to God's will. - Romans 8:26-27

RESPONSORY
The Holy Spirit is the Paraclete, alleluia, alleluia.
 - The Holy Spirit is the Paraclete, alleluia, alleluia.
He will teach you all things,
 - alleluia, alleluia.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
 - The Holy Spirit is the Paraclete, alleluia, alleluia.

MAGNIFICAT (Canticle of Mary)
Antiphons
You will receive the power of the Holy Spirit. You will be my witnesses to the ends of the earth, alleluia.

INTERCESSIONS

All honor and glory to Christ, who has given the faithful a share in the Holy Spirit.  Let us cry out to him, saying:

                                Christ, hear us

Send for the Holy Spirit from the Father
 - to cleanse and strengthen the Church and spread it throughout the world.

Lord, by your Spirit, guide those who govern us,
 - that they may be servants of the common good in your name.

Pour out your Spirit, the protector of the poor,
 - to help and life up all those in need.

We pray for all stewards of your mysteries,
 - that they may always be found faithful.

By your suffering, resurrection and ascension you accomplished our redemption,
 - bring it to completion in the souls and bodies of the dead.

Our Father...

PRAYER God of power and mercy,
send your Holy Spirit to live in our hearts and make us temples of his glory.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
