READING      2 Peter 3:8b-9
In the Lord’s eyes, one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years are as a day. The Lord does not delay in keeping his promise – though some consider it delay.¯ Rather, he shows you generous patience, since he wants none to perish but all to come to repentance.

RESPONSORY
Come and set us free, Lord God of power and might.
 - Come and set us free, Lord God of power and might.
Let your face shine upon us and we shall be saved,
 - Lord God of power and might.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
 - Come and set us free, Lord God of power and might.

MAGNIFICAT (Canticle of Mary)
Antiphon:

O Emmanuel, Rex et legifer noster, expectatio gentium, et Salvator earum: veni ad salvandum nos, Domine, Deus noster.
O Emmanuel, king and lawgiver, desire of the nations, Savior of all people, come and set us free, Lord our God.

INTERCESSIONS
To our Redeemer who came to bring good news to the poor, let us earnestly pray:

     Let all people see your glory!

Show yourself to those who have never known you;
 - let them see your saving work.

Let your name be preached to the ends of the earth,
 - that all may find the way to you.

You came first to save the world;
 - now come again and save those who believe in you.

You brought freedom to us by saving us;
 - continue to save us and make us free.

You came once as a man; you will return in judgment;
 - bring eternal reward to those who have died.

Our Father...

COLLECT
Almighty ever-living God,
as we see how the Nativity of your Son
according to the flesh draws near,
we pray that to us, your unworthy servants,
mercy may flow from your Word,
who chose to become flesh of the Virgin Mary
and establish among us his dwelling,
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
