Tune: Caelites plaudant
Christ, the fair glory of the holy angels,
thou who hast made us, thou who o'er us rulest,
grant of thy mercy unto us thy servants
steps up to heaven.
Send thine archangel Michael to our succor;
peacemaker blessèd, may he banish from us
striving and hatred, so that for the peaceful
all things may prosper.
Send thine archangel Gabriel, the mighty;
herald of heaven, may he, from us mortals,
spurn the old serpent, watching o'er the temples
where thou art worshiped.
Send thine archangel Raphael, the restorer
of the misguided ways of men who wander,
who at thy bidding strengthens soul and body
with thine anointing.
May the blest mother of our God and Savior,
may the assembly of the saints in glory,
may the celestial companies of angels
ever assist us.
Father Almighty, Son, and Holy Spirit,
God ever blessèd, be thou our preserver;
thine is the glory which the angels worship,
veiling their faces.

Psalm 34
Benedicam Domine
Antiphon 1: Let us join the angels +in praising the Lord, / as the cherubim and seraphim sing: Holy, holy, holy.
1 I will bless the Lord at all times; * his praise shall ever be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall glory in the Lord; * let the humble hear and be glad.
3 O magnify the Lord with me; * let us exalt his name together.
4 I sought the Lord and he answered me * and delivered me from all my fears.
5 Look upon him and be radiant * and your faces shall not be ashamed.
6 This poor soul cried, and the Lord heard me * and saved me from all my troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him * and delivers them.
8 O taste and see that the Lord is gracious; * blessed is the one who trusts in him.
9 Fear the Lord, all you his holy ones, * for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 Lions may lack and suffer hunger, * but those who seek the Lord lack nothing that is good.
Antiphon 1: Let us join the angels + in praising the Lord, / as the cherubim and seraphim sing: Holy, holy, holy.
Antiphon 2: I heard the voice + of countless angels round the throne: / Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive honor and glory.
11 Come, my children, and listen to me; * I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Who is there who delights in life * and longs for days to enjoy good things?
13 Keep your tongue from evil * and your lips from lying words.
14 Turn from evil and do good; * seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous * and his ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, * to root out the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry and the Lord hears them * and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted * and will save those who are crushed in spirit.
19 Many are the troubles of the righteous; * from them all will the Lord deliver them.
20 He keeps all their bones, * so that not one of them is broken.
21 But evil shall slay the wicked * and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord ransoms the life of his servants * and will condemn none who seek refuge in him.
Antiphon 2: I heard the voice + of countless angels round the throne: / Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive honor and glory.
Antiphon 3: Angels and archangels, + thrones and dominions, principalities and powers, virtues of the heavens, / O praise the Lod of heaven, alleluia
Psalm 150
Laudate Domine
1 Alleluia. O praise God in his holiness; * praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts; * praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the blast of the trumpet; * praise him upon the harp and lyre.
4 Praise him with timbrel and dances; * praise him upon the strings and pipe.
5 Praise him with ringing cymbals; * praise him upon the clashing cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath * praise the Lord. Alleluia.
Antiphon 3: Angels and archangels, + thrones and dominions, principalities and powers, virtues of the heavens, / O praise the Lod of heaven, alleluia
First Reading
Daniel 12:1-3
"At that time Michael, the great prince, the protector of your people, shall arise. There shall be a time of anguish, such as has never occurred since nations first came into existence. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book. Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

In the firmament of his power, glorify the Lord, *

O heavens and all waters above the heavens.

Glorify the Lord, every shower of rain and fall of dew, *
all winds and fire and heat.
Winter and Summer, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.

drops of dew and flakes of snow
Frost and cold, ice and sleet, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
Glorify the Lord, O nights and days, *
O shining light and enfolding dark.
Storm clouds and thunderbolts, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
Let the earth glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
Glorify the Lord, O mountains and hills,
and all that grows upon the earth, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
Glorify the Lord, O springs of water, seas, and streams, *
O whales and all that move in the waters.
All birds of the air, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
Glorify the Lord, O beasts of the wild, *
and all you flocks and herds.
O men and women everywhere, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
Let the people of God glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
Glorify the Lord, O priests and servants of the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
Glorify the Lord, O spirits and souls of the righteous, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
You that are holy and humble of heart, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
Let us glorify the Lord: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
In the firmament of his power, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.
Second Reading
Mark 13:21-27
And if anyone says to you at that time, "Look! Here is the Messiah!" or "Look! There he is!" —do not believe it. False messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce signs and omens, to lead astray, if possible, the elect. But be alert; I have already told you everything.
'But in those days, after that suffering,
the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light,
and the stars will be falling from heaven,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
Then they will see "the Son of Man coming in clouds" with great power and glory. Then he will send out the angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.'
Second Canticle
Magnificat
Antiphon:
The angel Gabriel spoke to Mary and said: You will conceive and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior; *
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed: *
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him *
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm, *
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, *
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, *
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel, *
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
The promise he made to our fathers, *
to Abraham and his children for ever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Antiphon:
The angel Gabriel spoke to Mary and said: You will conceive and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.

Collect
Everlasting God, who have ordained and constituted in a wonderful order the ministries of angels and mortals: Mercifully grant that, as your holy angels always serve and worship you in heaven, so by your appointment they may help and defend us here on earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Intercessions
The angels carry out God's will. Let us pray that we too may listen carefully for his voice and hear his call as we say:
(R.)We beg you, hear us.
That our prayers may rise like a pleasant fragrance before you,
- through the hands of your angels.(R.)
That our prayers may be brought to your altar on high,
- through the hands of your angels.(R.)
That we may proclaim glory to God in the highest and peace to his people on earth,
- with the multitude of the heavenly hosts.(R.)
That the angels may receive us at the end of our days,
- and lead us home to paradise.(R.)
That the holy standard-bearer, Michael, may bring into the light of your presence,
- the souls of those who have died.(R.)
Our Father
Closing Prayer:
God our Father,
in a wonderful way you guide the work of angels and all creatures.
May those who serve you constantly in heaven
keep our lives safe from all harm on earth.
Grant this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Who live and reigns with you and Holy Spirit
One God, forever and ever, Amen.
