St. Luke

Terce        Sext        Nones

TERCE (Mid Morning)
God, come to my assistance.
- Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Psalms

Antiphon:
Go forth and proclaim the good news of the kingdom; and freely share with others what God has given you.

Psalms are taken from the psalms of the day, or from the complementary psalter.

READING
I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: for Jew first, and then Greek. For in it is revealed the righteousness of God from faith to faith; as it is written, "The one who is righteous by faith will live." - Romans 1:16-17

RESPONSORY
Their voice has gone out to the limits of the earth.
     - Their words to the ends of the world.

COLLECT
Lord God, who chose Saint Luke
to reveal by his preaching and writings
the mystery of your love for the poor,
grant that those who already glory in your name
may persevere as one heart and one soul
and that all nations may merit to see your salvation.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

SEXT (Noon)
O God, make speed to save us
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Psalms

Antiphon
Know that I am with you always, even until the end of the world.

Psalms are taken from the psalms of the day, or from the complementary psalter.

READING
We drew courage through our God to speak to you the gospel of God with much struggle. Our exhortation was not from delusion or impure motives, nor did it work through deception. But as we were judged worthy by God to be entrusted with the gospel, that is how we speak, not as trying to please human beings, but rather God, who judges our hearts. - 1 Thessalonians 2:2b-3,4

RESPONSORY
The apostles held fast to Christ's message.
     - They kept the precepts he gave them.

NONES (Mid Afternoon)

Psalms

Antiphon
By your trusting acceptance of trials, you will gain true life.

Psalms are taken from the psalms of the day, or from the complementary psalter.

READING
With the strength that comes from God bear your share of the hardship which the gospel entails. God has saved us and has called us to a holy life, not because of any merit of ours but according to his own design - the grace held out to us in Christ Jesus - 2 Timothy 1:8b-9

RESPONSORY
Rejoice and be glad says the Lord,
     - for your names are written in heaven.
