and blessed
is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Alma Redemptoris Mater

From Advent until February 2, The Purification of the Virgin (or Presentation in the Temple)

Loving mother of the Redeemer,
gate of heaven, star of the sea,
assist your people who have fallen yet strive to rise again.
To the wonderment of nature you bore your Creator,
Yet remained a virgin after as before.
You who received Gabriel's joyful greeting,
have pity on us poor sinners.
Alma Redemptoris Mater,
peccatorum miserere.

(during Advent)
V. The Angel of the Lord brought tidings to Mary.
R. And she conceived be the Holy Spirit.

Lord, Pour your grace into our hearts, that as we have whom Incarnation of you Son Jesus Christ by the message of an angel, so by His cross and passions may we be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

(after Christmas)
V. After Childbearing, O Virgin, you remained inviolate.
R. Intercede for us, O Mother of God.

O God, Who by the fruitful virginity of Blessed Mary hast bestowed upon mankind the reward of eternal salvation, grant, we beseech thee, that we may know the help of her intercession, through whom we have been made worthy to receive the Author of our life, Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son: Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God, world without end. Amen.

Ave Regina Caelorum

For Lent

Welcome, O Queen of Heaven.
Welcome, O Lady of Angels
Hail! thou root, hail! thou gate
From whom unto the world, a light has arisen:

Rejoice, O glorious Virgin,
Lovely beyond all others,
Farewell, most beautiful maiden,
And pray for us to Christ.

Ave, Regina caelorum,
ave, Domina angelorum,
salve, radix, salve, porta,
ex qua mundo lux est orta.

Gaude, Virgo gloriosa,
super omnes speciosa;
vale, o valde decora,
et pro nobis Christum exora.

V. Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Holy Virgin.
R. Give me strength against thine enemies.

Grant us, O merciful God, protection in our weakness: that we who celebrate the memory of the Holy Mother of God may, through the aid of her intercession, rise again from our sins. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
R. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.

Regina caeli, laetare, alleluia:

O God, who by the resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ gave gladness to the world; grant that we, being helped by the Virgin Mary, may attain to the joys of eternal life. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Salve, Regina

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To you we cry, the children of Eve;
to you we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this land of exile.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us;
lead us home at last
and show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus:
O clement, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.

Salve, Regina, mater misericordiae;
vita, dulcedo et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus, exsules filii Evae.
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia ergo, advocata nostra,
illos tuos misericordes oculos ad nos converte.
Et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.
O clemens, o pia, o dulcis Virgo Maria.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Almighty and everlasting God who by the co-operation of the Holy Spirit prepared the body and soul of the glorious Virgin Mother Mary to become a habitation fit for thy Son: grant that as we rejoice in her commemoration, we may be delivered by her loving intercession from our present evils and from eternal death. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with confidence, I fly to you, O virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

Ave Maris Stella

Hail thou star of ocean
Portal of the sky
Ever virgin Mother
Of the Lord Most High

O! by Gabriel's Ave
Uttered long ago,
Eva's name reversing,
Established peace below

Break the captives' fetters,
Light on blindness pour,
All our ills expelling,
Every bliss implore

Show thyself a Mother,
Offer Him our sighs,
Who for us incarnate
Did not thee despise
Virgin of all virgins
To thy shelter take us,
Gentlest of the gentle
Chaste and gentle make us

Still, as on we journey,
Help our weak endeavor,
Till with thee and Jesus
We rejoice forever
Through the highest heaven,
To the almighty Three
Father, Son, and Spirit,
One same glory be.
Amen.
Ave Maris Stella
Dei Mater alma,
Atque semper virgo,
Felix coeli porta.

Sumens illud ave
Gabrielis ore,
Funda nos in pace,
Mutans Evae nomen

Solve vincia reis
Profer lumen caecis
Mala nostra pelle,
Bona cuncta posce.

Monstra te esse Matrem
Sumat per te preces
Qui pro nobis natus
Tulit esse tuus
Virgo singularis
Inter omnes mitis
Nos culpis solutos
Mites fac et castos.

Vitam presta puram
Iter para tutum,
Ut, videntes Jesum
Semper collaetemur
Sit laus Deo Patri,
Summo Cristo decus
Spiritui sancto:
Tribus honor unus.
Amen.

Ave Maria

Immaculate Mary, your praises we sing;
You reign now in splendor with Jesus our King.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!

In grief and temptation, in joy and in pain;
We'll seek thee, our Mother, nor seek thee in vain.
Ave, ave, ave Maria!

In heaven, the blessed your glory proclaim;
On earth we, your children, invoke your sweet name.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!

We pray for the Church, our true Mother on earth,
And beg you to watch o'er the land of our birth.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!
